The (former) Minister for Enterrpise Nigel Dodds launches EdCast Medical, a web platform developed by the Belfast based company, Stream On which enables medical professionals to access video based medical training courses, designed by professional bodies and delivered by highly respected experts. The site was launched with 23 courses available in the disciplines of general practice, dentistry, pharmacy, obstetrics and gynaecology, and pathology.

The site is aimed at practitioners who are required to undertake high level continual professional development as a mandatory or voluntary requirement of membership to an accredited professional body. What makes this proposition so appealing is that the internet based approach eliminates the time-consuming need to travel to attend lectures and seminars; there is therefore a knock-on cost reduction benefit for the end user or employer who enjoys reduced travel and hotel costs.

MF Communication handled the launch of EdCast Medical as part of a government backed campaign to raise awareness of the commercial potential of the internet amongst Northern Ireland's digital and creative industries.
