Two of the Diageo Access scholarship recipients are Sarah Corcoran and Hassan Abdul Ali. Sarah Corcoran is a former pupil of Warrenmount School in the Liberties in Dublin. She is the first person in her family to attend university.

19 year old Abdul Ali Hassan arrived in Ireland on his own from war-torn Somalia when he was just 15. DCU Access Programme aims to develop positive attitudes to education and encourage more students to consider going on to third level education.  It provides financial and other support to those students who go on to third level to complete their course of study.
