Extending Audience Reach through Social Media Engagement

The world’s leading drinks company, Diageo and its cream supplier Glanbia Ingredients Ireland have been sponsoring the all-island dairy contest, the Diageo Baileys Champion Dairy Cow, for over 30 years. Over recent years the PR strategy has adapted to take advantage of online media channels. A social media strategy has also been implemented in order to reach out to the next generation of farmers online...

MF Communication developed a social media strategy integrated with traditional media. This involves outreach via third party online media channels and utilising dedicated social media channels of Twitter and Facebook. An online content generation strategy includes creative posts, images and video to optimise search results and engage with the dairy breeding community as well as targeted journalists. The competition continues to go from strength to strength with more entries attracted in the past two years that ever before and a wider audience reached year-on-year.
